Arbequina

Single variety · Early harvest

Typical of the provinces of Lleida and Tarragona, now grown throughout Spain. A small olive, sweet in flavour, with a hint of pepperiness that reveals its freshness. Aromatic and fruity.

An extra virgin olive oil with intense green fruitiness (+7). On the nose there's a clear sense of fresh pasture grass, alfalfa, plantain, purslane, daisies and dandelion. Deeper inhalations reveal aromatic plants such as fresh oregano, sage leaves, fennel, salad burnet and wild calamint. This complexity of aromas comes through on the palate alongside the notes of apple and green almond typical of the early harvest of the arbequina variety, leaving a long, gentle finish of tomato plant, mallow, borage and thistle leaves. The pungency (+4) is fresh and crisp and stays a notch above the perceived bitterness (+3), present in the tasting descriptors of the wild plants of its surroundings.
